Atari, Inc.

Atari, Inc. began in 1972 in California when engineers Nolan Bushnell and Ted Dabney incorporated the company to build electronic games. In its early years the firm moved from coin‑op arcade hardware into household entertainment, commissioning engineer Al Alcorn to build Pong and releasing early coin‑op titles stemming from the founders’ prior work on Computer Space. Active through the 1970s and into the early 1980s, the company operated from the San Jose/Sunnyvale area and was reorganized and split in 1984 amid ownership and business changes. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as Windows, Atari 2600, Xbox 360, Arcade, PlayStation 2, Atari 8-bit, Game Boy Advance, Xbox, Atari 5200, and Atari ST.
