Irem Corp.

Founded as IPM in the 1970s and later operating as Irem Corporation, this Japanese arcade and home-system publisher operated mainly from the late 1970s through the 1990s with development and corporate presences in Ishikawa Prefecture and Tokyo-area offices. Kenzo Tsujimoto is documented as an early company figure associated with the original group. The firm released notable arcade and console titles including R‑Type, In the Hunt, Undercover Cops, DinoCity and Gekisha Boy, and maintained a separate regional presence under Irem America for North American releases.
