In case you missed it: GBA action games of espionage, flight, and arcade reflexes
This action-focused batch runs from compact spy missions and aerial sorties to old-school platforming and a very direct puck duel. The common appeal is immediate: pick a tool, read the hazards, and keep moving.
007: Everything or Nothing
In Bond’s portable operation, Bond alternates on-foot missions with three Aston Martin driving stages styled after Spy Hunter. The P99, MAC-10, Q-Rappel, and Holo-Puck give the campaign a pleasingly gadget-heavy spread, with linked-system multiplayer also noted.
A Sound of Thunder
In Travis Ryer’s time-fractured shootout, a time-safari mishap leaves Travis Ryer fighting dinosaurs through a broken version of Chicago. The overhead action mixes machine guns and grenade launchers with commandeered vehicles and time-freeze bombs.
Ace Combat Advance
In the top-down Ace Combat sortie, aerial combat becomes a 12-mission top-down campaign built around selecting aircraft and secondary weapons before takeoff. The corporate Air Strike Force versus United Air Defense setup gives its bombing runs and dogfights a brisk, no-nonsense backdrop.
Ace Lightning
In Ace’s amusement-park quest, an amusement-park hub opens doors to 12 themed side-scrolling worlds in pursuit of the Gold Amulet. Robot factories, haunted tents, boss fights, a target range, and a bell-ringing strength test make this a busy platforming route.
Advance Guardian Heroes
In the Soul Sword brawl, three starting heroes gather crystals for stat upgrades and Laboratory donations while pursuing the Soul Sword. Story mode supports two linked systems, while VS. mode brings four players and an unlockable roster said to reach 20 fighters.
Adventure Island
In Master Higgins’s rescue run, Master Higgins races through tropical stages with axes, fireballs, eggs, and the ever-risky skateboard. The hunger meter remains the memorable wrinkle: would you take a dangerous detour for fruit, or trust the next stretch of the course?
Aero the Acro-Bat
In Aero’s circus gauntlet, a circus bat takes on Edgar Ektor through stages packed with catapults, cannons, bubble machines, and springy platforms. Cheese, soda, keys, and clocks sit alongside the aerial flips and dives, so the carnival clutter suits the game’s restless pace.
Air Hockey-e
In the race-to-ten puck match, each table-hockey match is a race to ten goals against an increasingly sharp computer opponent. The A-button power shot is the obvious talking point: would you favor controlled bank shots or keep gambling on the faster blast?
AirForce Delta Storm
In the nine-plane campaign, nine attack aircraft handle objectives ranging from bombing runs to dogfights under a top-down view. Radar, fuel, altitude, cloud cover, machine guns, and several missile types give every sortie plenty to watch at once.
Alex Rider: Stormbreaker
In Alex’s infiltration assignment, Alex investigates Herod Sayle’s free-computer scheme after the death of his uncle and mentor, Ian Rider. Keycards, night vision, remote-controlled cars, stealth routes, and newly unlocked combat moves keep the teenage-spy premise moving.
For a next session, which setup would you choose first: Bond’s gadgets, Ace Combat’s loadouts, Guardian Heroes crystal builds, or the clean pressure of a race-to-ten air-hockey match?
