Could Leisure Suit Larry work as a couch game today?

The early Larry games grew out of a text adventure, but the move to an on-screen protagonist made his misunderstandings visible and turned him into the joke. That sounds like a very different kind of group experience from a typical Sierra adventure, where one person usually controls the keyboard while everyone else watches. Would the awkward puzzles and timing make Larry a fun pass-the-controller game, or would the adults-only humor and slow parser roots make it too niche for a modern couch session? I’m also curious whether his silhouette and exaggerated reactions would carry the character better than the actual romance plot.
