That breadth is immediately more inviting than another pile of near-identical games.

The trade-off is that the collection does not build a unified rhythm of its own. You are not buying one carefully paced experience; you are buying several distinct ones and accepting that some will land better than others. That can be frustrating if you want a package with one clear centerpiece, but it is liberating when you would rather jump to something else than force yourself through a game that has stopped clicking.
