Epyx, Inc.
Founded as Automated Simulations by Jon Freeman and Jim Connelley in 1978 and later renamed Epyx, Inc., the company operated from the San Francisco Bay Area through the 1980s. It developed and published a wide range of home‑computer and console titles, including its athletic “Games” series (Summer Games, World/California Games) and action/arcade releases such as Pitstop and Electrocop; Epyx also published Todd’s Adventures in Slime World. Leadership and ownership changed in the mid‑1980s as the firm absorbed the Starpath programming group and moved away from its original simulation focus before financial troubles at decade’s end. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as Commodore 64, Apple II, DOS, Windows, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, Atari ST, Atari 8-bit, and Lynx.
