Hudson Soft Company, Ltd.

Founded in Sapporo on May 18, 1973 by brothers Yuji and Hiroshi Kudo, Hudson Soft Company, Ltd. grew from an amateur‑radio shop into a prolific Japanese developer and publisher active from the late 1970s through the 2000s. The firm produced Bomberman and Adventure Island entries, worked on Dungeon Explorer titles, and collaborated with NEC on the PC Engine/TurboGrafx‑16 era hardware. Long‑time public face Takahashi “Meijin” was among its notable personalities. Hudson operated offices in Japan and regional branches in Europe and North America before its merger into Konami in 2012.
