Eden
Eden is a free, open-source Nintendo Switch emulator for Windows, Linux, macOS, Android, and other platforms. Its desktop and mobile builds, stable and nightly releases, and detailed user handbook make it a flexible choice for Switch emulation.

An actively developed Switch emulator
Eden continues the open-source Switch emulation lineage with its own maintained codebase and public development repository. The project offers stable builds for ordinary use, nightly builds for recent changes, and documentation that explains setup, controllers, graphics, and troubleshooting.
Players who want current builds and clear setup help
Eden suits users with capable desktop or Android hardware who want to compare stable and nightly builds and adjust settings when a particular game needs attention. macOS support is available but the project describes it as experimental; compatibility and performance vary by hardware and game.
The people behind Eden
A community-maintained open-source project
The Eden project credits developer Camille LaVey as its starter and acknowledges earlier Switch emulator projects including Yuzu and Ryujinx. Its public repository records ongoing contributions, while the official site distributes builds and the user handbook documents platform-specific setup. Eden is licensed under GPLv3 or later.

- Choose the right release: Open the official downloads page and select Stable unless you specifically need a nightly fix. Match the package to your operating system and CPU architecture. On Windows, install the current Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable if Eden will not launch.
- Install and launch Eden: Extract the Windows ZIP and run eden.exe; use the AppImage on Linux or Steam Deck, open the DMG on macOS, or install the appropriate APK on Android. Follow the platform notes on the download page for first launch.
- Install your own keys: On the desktop interface, open Tools → Install Decryption Keys and select the keys extracted from your own Switch. The project’s quick start describes this step before a game can be launched.
- Install your own firmware: Use Tools → Install Firmware, then select the folder or ZIP containing firmware dumped from your own Switch. Keep the firmware and keys matched to your own setup.
- Add a game folder: Double-click the empty game-list area in the desktop interface and select the folder containing your own game backups. Start with one title so path and file issues are easier to diagnose.
- Configure input: Open Emulation → Configure → Input and map your controller before launching a game. Save a working profile, then test it in one title.
- Test with default graphics settings: Launch a game by double-clicking it. Confirm basic video, sound, and input before changing graphics options; consult Eden’s handbook and system requirements if performance or rendering is poor.
