Attract-Mode is built for the moment a cabinet or living-room machine stops looking like a desktop computer. It launches command-line emulators behind a gamepad or joystick-driven interface, and its layouts can show artwork, lists, and previews in very different arrangements. Filters help divide a large arcade collection into more useful views.

The frontend is deliberately configurable, which means the first emulator path, game list, artwork folders, and exit controls deserve attention. It shines when those pieces are stable and the interface can be left on display. If you are building a cabinet, test navigation and returning from a game before polishing the layout.

A sensible setup path

1. Configure one emulator executable and game directory.
2. Generate its collection list, then test the exit controls.
