Set up your first ES-DE library

This guide starts with a small, testable ES-DE setup. Use the official project for the current build and its documentation for platform-specific instructions.

Set up and test

  1. Install ES-DE from the official project and start it once to create its configuration folders.
  2. Add one supported system folder and a small collection of files you own.
  3. Choose the emulator or RetroArch core for that system, then test one launch and exit.
  4. After launching works, use the scraper to add metadata and artwork.

Once one game launches and exits cleanly, expand the library a system at a time. Edit this page to add screenshots, troubleshooting notes, or further tutorials for this frontend.
