Konami Co., Ltd. traces its origins to a jukebox rental and repair business founded in Osaka on March 21, 1969 by Kagemasa Kozuki. During the 1970s and 1980s the company moved into arcade and home-console games, later reorganizing its video-game operations into Konami Digital Entertainment in the 2000s while Konami Co., Ltd. remained the corporate name in official filings. Headquartered in Tokyo, the group has been linked to arcade hits and console series including beatmania, the Tokimeki Memorial dating projects, International Superstar Soccer and numerous arcade action titles from the 1980s and 1990s where Konami is listed as publisher or developer.
