Namco Limited

Namco Limited began as Nakamura Manufacturing Company in Tokyo in 1955, founded by Masaya Nakamura, and grew from making coin‑operated rides into a video‑game publisher and developer best known for its late 1970s–1980s arcade output. Headquartered in Tokyo, the company released landmark shooters and maze games such as Galaxian, Galaga and Pac‑Man and operated regional branches (for example Namco Europe). In 2005 the video‑game businesses were reorganized into the Bandai Namco group; the Namco name continued in amusement and legacy branding thereafter.
