Strategic Simulations, Inc.

Founded by Joel Billings on December 27, 1979 and based in Mountain View, California, Strategic Simulations, Inc. began as a publisher and developer focused on computer wargames and simulations. During the 1980s and early 1990s the company released many tactical and operational wargames (including the Decisive Battles of WWII series and Great Naval Battles) and later produced licensed Dungeons & Dragons computer titles via its Gold Box line. Key personnel and long‑running series shaped its catalog before the brand was sold and its original operation wound down in the 1990s. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as DOS, Commodore 64, Apple II, Windows, Amiga, Atari 8-bit, Atari ST, FM Towns, MSX, and 3DO.
