Najemnik: Powrót

Najemnik: Powrót has a pleasingly hard-nosed loop: earn a mercenary’s pay, spend it on protection or firepower, then prove you can shoot before the next job opens. That structure gives this compact first-person shooter more personality than a straight run of enemy encounters.

The catch is its narrow scope. Everything happens on a single board, and the mission goal stays brutally simple: find enemies, kill them, and do not let your energy run out. If you enjoy old-school score-and-survival pressure, the shop and shooting-range rituals may be enough to keep you hooked.

Gameplay

The first thing you notice in Najemnik: Powrót is that it asks you to earn your way into a mission. You are not simply handed the next assignment; you must clear the shooting-range exam first. That makes the game’s basic act of aiming and firing feel like a gatekeeper, which is fitting for a game about a hired gun trying to stay alive long enough to get paid.

Between jobs, the weapon shop gives your earnings a purpose. You can buy a bulletproof vest and choose among a Colt pistol, shotgun, Uzi, rocket launcher, and grenades, so cash is not just a number ticking upward after a successful mission. Deciding whether to save, buy protection, or arm yourself more aggressively is the strongest hook here. The casino adds another outlet for money, though gambling away funds can make the next job feel like a much riskier proposition.

Once a mission begins, the objective is direct: track down enemies and kill them before all your energy is gone. The game takes place on one board, so it does not have room for a long campaign of changing locations or elaborate detours. That can become frustrating if you need variety from your shooters, but the tight focus suits anyone who enjoys repeating a compact challenge, improving at the firing test, and making smarter purchases.

Graphics

Najemnik: Powrót uses a first-person viewpoint for its combat, putting you in the mercenary’s line of fire rather than showing the action from above or behind. The game’s single-board structure keeps the visual setting concentrated around one combat space instead of a run of distinct environments.

Story

This is a mercenary setup rather than a story-heavy shooter. You take jobs, eliminate enemies, and collect payment. The premise is economical, but it gives the shop visits and the need to stay alive a practical reason to matter.

There is no detour from the central role: you are a gun for hire trying to finish each assignment. That plainness works with the game’s arcade-like pressure, because every decision points back toward readiness for the next mission.

If you want character drama or a developing plot, Najemnik: Powrót will not be the reason you return. Its small narrative payoff is simply the feeling of becoming better equipped and more capable as a working mercenary.

Overall Experience

Najemnik: Powrót is more interesting than its one-board kill-or-be-killed objective initially suggests because it wraps that action in a small economy. Passing the range test, collecting a payout, and choosing where to spend it gives each mission a little tension before the shooting starts.

Its limitations are also impossible to ignore. The confined setting and repeated goal mean the game depends heavily on whether you enjoy its core shooting challenge. If the firing test or enemy hunt does not grab you early, the casino and weapon list are unlikely to transform the experience.

Give it a chance if you like lean 8-bit shooters that make you manage a modest bankroll alongside your survival. The payoff is not a grand adventure; it is the satisfying rhythm of qualifying for work, buying an edge, and seeing whether your preparation carries you through the next dangerous job.
