Retro Replay Review
Gameplay
Fight in Style works as a small excuse to return to Final Fantasy XIII-2 rather than a major new destination. Its gameplay hook is Omega, the included opponent, which gives the pack a concrete challenge alongside the wardrobe additions. That matters: without the opponent, this would be a very slight collection indeed.
The rest of the bundle is deliberately simple. Serah receives Summoner’s Garb and Noel gets Battle Attire, so the appeal is partly about revisiting familiar characters with a different look while you continue playing. If you enjoy collecting optional add-ons and want both leads covered, the pairing is sensible.
There is no broad range of extras here, and that narrowness is the central frustration if you want a substantial DLC package. Buy it for the specific combination of an Omega encounter and two outfits, not because the word “Pack” suggests a major expansion.
Graphics
The visual side centers on the two costume changes: Serah’s Summoner’s Garb and Noel’s Battle Attire. They give each protagonist a distinct alternative outfit, which is the clearest reason to care about this collection outside of the Omega fight.
Story
Fight in Style is not framed around a new story thread. Its identity comes from an opponent and outfit collection, making it a side purchase for an existing Final Fantasy XIII-2 run rather than a reason to return for narrative momentum.
That can be a relief if you simply want more to do without treating the pack as required reading. You can value it on its own modest terms: an extra confrontation, plus new clothing for Serah and Noel.
If story is why you play Final Fantasy XIII-2, this bundle has little reason to move up your list. Its rewards are immediate and optional, aimed at people already invested in the game’s characters and battles.
Overall Experience
This is a clean, modest compilation with a clear audience. Fans who want Omega and like the idea of dressing both Serah and Noel differently will get exactly what they came for; everyone else can comfortably pass.
The best thing about Fight in Style is that it does not pretend to be more than a compact add-on. The worst is that its three included pieces leave little room for surprise or depth. It is a reasonable bit of fan service, not a must-have chapter of Final Fantasy XIII-2.
If you are comparing small add-on collections, the related Final Fantasy XIII-2 DLC Bundle Pack may be worth considering alongside it. Fight in Style earns a recommendation only when its exact trio of extras already appeals to you.
