Retro Replay Review
Gameplay
Radnet’s first attraction is simple: there is a lot to clear. Twenty events and twenty challenges turn the add-on into a compact set of extra goals for somebody who is not ready to leave Prototype 2 behind. This is not a new game-sized expansion; it is a structured reason to jump back in and chase completion.
The five mutation abilities matter more than the cosmetic rewards because they can change what you bring into the broader game. That makes the unlock loop feel less disposable than a pack made entirely of score challenges. Five additional bonus unlock abilities add further value, particularly if you enjoy accumulating tools rather than merely ticking off a list.
Frustration can set in if you want a substantial new campaign or a dramatic change of pace. Radnet is built from events and challenges, so its payoff depends on whether you already find the core action satisfying enough to replay in more directed pieces. If you do, forty activities is a healthy amount of material; if you were done with the base game, these extras are unlikely to reverse that feeling.
Graphics
The clearest in-game visual extra is the unlockable Alex Mercer skin, giving you another character look to use. On PlayStation 3, Radnet also includes five dynamic themes, while Xbox 360 owners receive five avatar items; they are neat collector bonuses, though they sit outside the actual action.
Story
Radnet’s emphasis is on extra events rather than a clearly defined new narrative arc. Go in expecting more things to do, not a follow-up that reshapes the main story.
That focus is not inherently a weakness. After finishing a story-heavy game, targeted missions can be a welcome way to revisit it without committing to another long campaign. Radnet understands that post-game urge and serves it directly.
Still, narrative-minded fans should weigh the purchase carefully. The included behind-the-scenes videos may be worthwhile if you enjoy a look behind the development of Prototype 2, but they are supplementary material, not a replacement for new story content.
Overall Experience
Radnet is a solid, focused add-on with a sensible mix of challenge material, ability unlocks, and collector extras. The count is generous for a replay-oriented pack: twenty events, twenty challenges, and ten abilities give completion-minded players real work to do.
Its best audience is easy to identify: you enjoyed Prototype 2, want more objectives, and like being rewarded with new abilities and a skin. In that case, the content has a clear purpose and should extend your time with the game in a meaningful way.
Skip it if your main hope is a new chapter in the story. Buy it for the events, challenges, and mutation abilities, and treat the videos, themes or avatar items, and Alex Mercer appearance as welcome garnish. That is a narrower proposition than a full expansion, but within that lane Radnet is worthwhile.
