Softdisk Publishing

Softdisk Publishing (also known as Softdisk, Softdisk, Inc. and Magazines On Disk) began in 1981 in Shreveport, Louisiana as a producer of disk magazines and standalone PC programs. Founders listed include Jim and Judi Mangham and Al Vekovius. During the late 1980s and early 1990s it issued monthly disks such as Big Blue Disk and the Gamer’s Edge series and paid outside authors for programs; several early id Software developers worked on Gamer’s Edge titles and supplied games like Catacomb and Catacomb 3D to the company. Its catalog also includes compilations and DOS-era puzzle titles such as Missing Dots Matrix. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, cover DOS, Apple II, Commodore 64, and Windows.
