Founded by the five Guillemot brothers in 1986, Ubisoft began in Brittany and established its French headquarters and early studios in the 1990s. Yves Guillemot has long served as the company’s chief executive among the siblings. Incorporated in France on March 28, 1986, the group grew into a global publisher and developer with internal studios across Europe and North America. Notable titles and series attributable to the house include Assassin’s Creed II, Far Cry 2, Prince of Persia and multiple Tom Clancy–branded entries such as Splinter Cell and Pandora Tomorrow.
