NgpCraft Emulator v3.3 has been launched. This is a Neo Geo Pocket / Neo Geo Pocket Color emulator featuring a swift native C++ core (TLCS-900H + Z80 + K2GE video) supported by a PyQt6 desktop interface. Its timing is finely tuned to match actual hardware — it accounts for instruction-fetch wait-states on the cartridge flash and provides accurately measured silicon costs for MUL/DIV and LDIR — allowing self-timed games (like Cool Boarders Pocket and Densha de Go) to run at their authentic 30 fps, unlike most emulators that play them at around twice the speed.

Features:
A comprehensive library with cover thumbnails (in grid / list / compact view), which reflows live — also includes search, sorting (by name, last played, most played, playtime, recently added, size, with toggle for direction), favourites ★, and an option to filter out unplayed games. Play count, playtime, and last played statistics are recorded for each game.
Console boot — utilizing a genuine BIOS, the Boot BIOS powers the console, allowing the Neo Geo Pocket intro to play followed by the game booting on its own, resembling real hardware functionality.
Video options include integer / fit / stretch scaling, scanline / LCD-grid / CRT filters, color profiles, and genuine fullscreen modes. The canvas dynamically follows the window; size presets are available through Ctrl+1â€Ļ5.
Black-and-white cartridges play in color — an NGP game on an NGPC gets colorized, similar to how Game Boy games are displayed on a Game Boy Color. Users can switch between both machines — refer to Monochrome cartridges.
Save states — up to 8 slots per game (accessible via the toolbar or using F2 to save, F4 to load, and F3 for slot selection).
In-game saves — the game’s built-in flash save, can be stored within the ROM, as a separate file, or both.
A console that retains memory — a coin cell preserves its BIOS settings and clock, keeping the date accurate for the next use. The RTC alarm functions correctly and alerts on time.
Speed control — fast forward (hold Tab) and adjustable speeds from 0.25× to 4× ([ / ] or via the toolbar).
Rewind functionality — hold , (or use the âĒ toolbar button) to drive the game backward; release to continue. . advances one frame forward. Buffer length can be adjusted (Off / 10 / 20 / 30 s).
Screenshots (F12, folder configuration available), FPS overlay, and an optional player toolbar.
Controller support — an Xbox-style (XInput) pad can be used alongside the keyboard, with turbo / autofire options on A and B at 5–20 presses per second.
Fully customizable — console buttons and every in-game hotkey can be remapped, with alerts for potential conflicts. Console buttons are represented on an image of the console: each control box is positioned next to the corresponding button for intuitive assignment, so you can easily select the D-pad’s left instead of navigating a label such as “Left”.
Themes — the emulator automatically follows your desktop’s light/dark mode settings, or you may manually select Light or Dark. Changes are applied live without the need for a restart.
Debugging tools (F1) — a comprehensive debugger includes symbols, instruction stepping, a call stack, raster event timeline, watchpoints, an editable hex viewer with highlighting for accessed regions, RAM search, and audio analysis supporting VGM export. See Debugging.
ROM analysis — right-click on a game to boot it, analyze it, and receive a report on any issues. See ROM analysis.
Crash reporting — any ROM faults generate a detailed crashes/*.txt log (including reason, PC, opcode, registers, memory & stack dumps).
Multilingual interface — available in English and French, with live switching capabilities, no restart necessary. Each language is stored in its own JSON file in lang/, making adding new languages as simple as adding a file without requiring code changes: see TRANSLATING.md. Contributions are encouraged.

Sprites on higher priority layers are no longer obscured by those beneath, allowing selection frames and overlays to appear again (as seen in Yahtzee).
Corrected the speed of block copying, which previously omitted one line for every eight in games that draw in sync with the display (e.g., Bomberman).
