NgpCraft Emulator v3.2 has been released. This is a Neo Geo Pocket / Neo Geo Pocket Color emulator that features a fast native C++ core (TLCS-900H + Z80 + K2GE video) powered by a PyQt6 desktop interface. Its timing is synchronized with actual hardware — instruction-fetch wait-states on the cartridge flash, and silicon-measured MUL/DIV and LDIR costs — ensuring that self-timed games (like Cool Boarders Pocket and Densha de Go) run at their authentic 30 fps instead of the ~2× too fast speeds typical of most emulators.

Key Features:
A library complete with cover thumbnails (grid/list/compact), live-reflowing — along with search and sorting options (name, last played, most played, playtime, recently added, size, with a direction toggle), favourites ★, and a filter for never-played titles. Play count, playtime, and last-played metrics are maintained for each game.
Console boot — featuring an authentic BIOS. The Boot BIOS starts the console just like the real thing: the Neo Geo Pocket intro plays and the game subsequently boots independently, replicating hardware behavior precisely.
Video options include integer/fit/stretch scaling, scanline/LCD-grid/CRT filters, various color profiles, and true fullscreen. The canvas adapts to the window; size presets are accessible via Ctrl+1â€Ļ5.
Colorized black-and-white cartridges — playing an NGP game on an NGPC will colorize it, similar to how a Game Boy game appears on a Game Boy Color. Both consoles are selectable — refer to Monochrome cartridges.
Save states — 8 slots available per game (use the toolbar or hotkeys: F2 to save / F4 to load / F3 for slot selection).
In-game saves — utilizing the game’s internal flash save, storing either within the ROM, a separate file, or both.
A console that retains its memory — the coin cell holds BIOS settings and keeps the clock, ensuring the date remains accurate for future use. The RTC alarm functions effectively, sounding at the right time.
Speed control — fast-forward (hold Tab) and 0.25×â€Ļ4× speed adjustments ([ / ] or the toolbar).
Rewind functionality — hold , (or click the âĒ toolbar button) to reverse gameplay; release to continue. . steps forward one frame. Buffer length can be configured (Off / 10 / 20 / 30 s).
Screenshots (F12, folder customizable), FPS overlay, and a dismissible player toolbar.
Controller compatibility — supports an Xbox-style (XInput) controller in addition to keyboard input, with turbo/autofire for buttons A and B at 5–20 presses per second.
Fully customizable — reassign console buttons and every in-game hotkey, with alerts for conflicting bindings. Console buttons are shown alongside their corresponding fields: for instance, you can select the left button of the D-pad instead of a label titled “Left.”
Themes — by default, it adapts to your desktop’s light/dark mode, or you can manually choose Light or Dark. Changes are applied instantly without needing a restart.
Debugging tools (F1) — a comprehensive debugger: symbols, instruction stepping, call stack, raster event timeline, read/write watchpoints, an editable hex view with access highlighting, RAM search functions, and audio analysis with VGM export capabilities. See Debugging for more.
ROM analysis — right-click a game to boot it, analyze it, and report any issues found. Refer to ROM analysis for details.
Crash reports — when a ROM fault occurs, a detailed log is generated in crashes/*.txt (including reason, PC, opcode, registers, memory & stack dumps).
Interface localization — available in English and French, switchable in real-time with no need for a restart. Each language is represented by a JSON file in lang/, allowing easy addition of new languages; see TRANSLATING.md for guidance. Contributions are appreciated.

NgpCraft Changelog:
Speed/timing — a single model across all three versions, with two metrics measured directly on real hardware; –timing legacy offers a comparison.
Online — round trip metrics displayed (latest/average/worst), requiring both players to use v3.2.
Saved states — previously lost clock and timing counters; replay is now verified frame by frame across 12 games; existing saves load while new ones aren’t functional in v3.0.
Link cable — now integrated within the emulated hardware, with a fixed scheduling bug. (Requires testing online)
Known issues — crossplay handshake has been postponed; both sides must be shipped simultaneously.
