Acclaim Entertainment, Inc. was an American video game publisher founded in 1987 and based on Long Island (Glen Cove), New York. Co‑founders included Greg Fischbach, Robert Holmes and Jim Scoroposki. Active through the late 1980s, 1990s and into the early 2000s, the company built a worldwide publishing and development footprint—acquiring studios such as Iguana and Sculptured Software—and became known for licensed and sports titles. Its catalogue includes entries in franchises and licensed games like NFL Quarterback Club and several WWF and movie‑tie‑in releases, with operations ceasing amid bankruptcy filings in 2004.
