Compile
Compile was a Tokyo-based video game company founded in 1982 by Masamitsu Niitani. Active through the 1980s and 1990s as a developer and publisher, it created the Puyo Puyo puzzle series and the Madō Monogatari and Aleste franchises; many of its titles and compilations appeared on home consoles and computers in Japan. Key people include founder Masamitsu Niitani; later staff formed successor teams and offshoots. Known Compile-era releases that appear under its imprint include multiple Puyo Puyo entries and related spin-offs such as Puyo Puyo Tsu and Puyo Puyo Box.
