Microsoft Corporation
Founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen in 1975 and headquartered in Redmond, Washington, Microsoft expanded from system and productivity software into games for PC in the 1990s and began using the Microsoft Game Studios/Xbox Game Studios label from 2000. As publisher it released and commissioned long-running PC series such as Microsoft Flight Simulator and Age of Empires, and later distributed console franchises including Gears of War under its studio imprint. Seattle-area leadership and in-house studio groups have handled many first‑party releases while the company also worked with third‑party developers on flagship Windows and Xbox titles. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as Windows, Xbox 360, Atari 2600, Xbox, Xbox One, Intellivision, Arcade, Atari 8-bit, Commodore 64, and DOS.
