NEC Avenue, Ltd.

NEC Avenue, Ltd. was a Tokyo-based NEC corporate division formed in 1987 to handle music, video and consumer software tied to NEC platforms. Active through the 1980s and 1990s, it released titles for the PC Engine and later the PC-FX and spun its software operations into the NEC Interchannel business in the mid-1990s. Toshio Tabeta is named in accounts of the company’s early arcade licensing work. Noted releases attributed to the label include Dōkyūsei (PC-FX-era listings), Dragon Knight & Graffiti and Sotsugyō: Graduation Real among its console and CD-ROM-era catalogue.
