Strategy First, Inc.

Founded in Montreal in 1990, Strategy First began as a developer‑publisher focused on PC strategy and tactics titles. Its founding team included Don McFatridge, Steve Wall and Dave Hill, soon joined by Richard Therrien. During the 1990s and 2000s it handled releases in series such as Disciples, the original Europa Universalis and Space Empires, and distributed Jagged Alliance entries; later catalogs also feature Galactic Civilizations and several licensed retail-era titles including FlatOut and Ghost Master. The company operated an online download store from 2005 and weathered bankruptcy filings in the mid-2000s.
