October 12 to 19, 2026. The Saturn and original Xbox have the biggest news this week. Ymir moved beyond its SDL renderer, then quickly fixed a Windows ARM launch crash. xemu delivered a numbered release with audio and timing repairs that touch several games. The four monitored categories carried 184 notices, although many were daily builds of the same project.

Saturn and Xbox releases

Ymir 0.4.0 changes the picture, then 0.4.1 fixes a launch crash

In Ymir 0.4.0, Saturn players gained Direct3D 12 and Metal renderers. The Direct3D 12 path can move VDP graphics work to the GPU, while the Virtua Gun graduated from experimental status after fixes to shot detection and reloads. Disc and system-control fixes also address games that failed to boot or stopped during play. The team followed with 0.4.1, a maintenance release for a Windows ARM startup crash. xemu 0.8.137 puts audio and timing under the microscope

The xemu 0.8.137 release notes list a new Xbox audio DSP emulator, fixes for distorted or stalled sound in affected titles, and corrections for cutscenes that ran too quickly. Rendering work includes a fix for blurry 2D interfaces at internal resolutions above 1x, while a Windows change addresses a performance regression tied to display timing. 3DS testing and smaller updates

Azahar’s 2127.0 line remains in testing. Alpha 2 introduced ROM Bundles for a base game and related content, and Alpha 3 adds CSND audio emulation for applets and some homebrew while fixing bundle installation and a Windows theme-change hang. The project labels these builds as prereleases. The Azahar profile still offers the safer starting point for readers who prefer a stable channel.

Gearcoleco 1.7.4 smooths Spinner Controller input, a welcome fix for games that depend on a dial-like control. Gearsystem 3.9.22 and Gearboy 3.8.18 mainly refine desktop notifications and fix smaller bugs. Those two releases are real, but their notes do not support a larger compatibility story. In the arcade feed, Supermodel and FinalBurn Neo kept issuing development builds; the PC feed was similarly dominated by DOSBox Staging and DOSBox-X snapshots.
