Taito America Corporation

Taito America Corporation was Taito’s North American division, established in 1979 and based in Wheeling, Illinois. Operating through the 1980s and 1990s, it handled U.S. distribution and localized arcade and console releases for Taito’s library. Company records and game listings attribute several U.S. releases and ports to the Wheeling office, including arcade and home versions of Twin Hawk and Twin Eagle, and Genesis/SNES-era licensed releases such as The Flintstones and Hit the Ice. The branch functioned as a regional publisher rather than an independent studio; specific corporate founders for the U.S. entity are not listed on consulted sources. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as Arcade, NES, Genesis, Commodore 64, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, ZX Spectrum, Amiga, Amstrad CPC, and MSX.
