Ymir Repository Update (September 21, 2026)

The Ymir Git emulator for Sega Saturn was released on September 21, 2026. It’s in progress and allows loading games from various file formats, automatic BIOS detection, and region switching. It supports two players with customizable keybindings and features like save states, rewinding, and turbo speed. A backup memory manager helps import/export saves. The update includes several fixes for the D3D12 renderer, VDP issues, and game crashes, along with improvements in documentation. Overall, the emulator aims to enhance the gaming experience with a rich feature set. Download is available at Ymir Git.

Ymir Git (2026/09/21) has been released. It is a work-in-progress Sega Saturn emulator.

Features:
Supports loading games from BIN+CUE, IMG+CCD, MDF+MDS, or ISO formats
Automatic detection of IPL (BIOS) ROM
Region switching done automatically
Up to two players using standard Control Pads on both ports (more features on the way)
Keybindings that can be fully customized
Support for Backup RAM and DRAM cartridges (more features coming soon)
Integrated memory manager for backups to import/export saves and transfer between internal and cartridge RAM
Save state functionality
Rewind capability (up to one minute at 60 fps), turbo speed, and frame stepping (forwards and backwards)
A feature-rich debugger that’s still in progress
