Gameplay

The main reason to buy this package is still LittleBigPlanet 2 itself; the Collector’s Edition wraps that game in a generous set of extras rather than replacing it with a cut-down version. If you were already planning to play it on PlayStation 3, this is an easy bundle to understand: start with the game, then enjoy the extra Sackboy options as you go.

The voucher’s 11 costumes are the digital centerpiece. Toy Story aliens, Clu, Cobra, Crocodile, Mandrill, Vulture, Clank, Daxter, Jak, Ratchet, and The Great Gonzo give you a broad mix of recognizable looks instead of several slight variations on the same idea. That variety matters more than the raw count; you can pick an outfit with some personality rather than treating the voucher as inventory clutter.

Don’t buy the edition expecting the costumes themselves to transform how the game plays. Their value is in personalizing Sackboy, and that is a worthwhile bonus if you enjoy collecting playful crossover gear. If you only care about getting the game, the premium here is harder to justify.

Graphics

The clearest visual upgrade is Sackboy’s wardrobe. Seeing the character in a TRON-style Clu outfit, a Toy Story alien costume, or one of the animal suits gives the edition a more toy-box-like range of looks. The physical 7-inch plush and the game-themed bookends also make a much stronger first impression on a shelf than another downloadable costume pack would.

Story

This edition is not trying to sell you on a different story. Its extras sit around the core LittleBigPlanet 2 experience: collectible items in the box and costume choices for Sackboy.

That makes the crossover selection the closest thing to added flavor. A Muppets costume carries a different kind of charm from Ratchet, Jak, or a Disney/Pixar alien, even though each is ultimately a costume choice rather than a new narrative thread.

If you are coming back for the game’s world and characters, treat the Collector’s Edition as a celebratory package. The listed additions make the journey feel more personal, but the story reason to own it remains the base game.

Overall Experience

As a collector’s edition, this is nicely judged. The plush and bookends give you tangible keepsakes, while five PSN avatars and 11 costumes prevent the digital side from feeling stingy. It is a bundle with enough different kinds of extras that each one does not have to carry the whole price premium.

The strongest audience is the LittleBigPlanet fan who likes Sackboy as an object of affection as much as a game character. The plush is cute, the bookends have practical shelf value, and the costume roster has real crossover appeal. Someone buying purely for gameplay should compare prices first; someone who wants a keepsake package will get much more out of it.

That is why this edition lands as a good, not essential, upgrade. It adds charm and quantity without pretending that cosmetics are a new game. If the physical extras make you smile, it is an easy recommendation; if they do not, the standard release is the more sensible route.
