The first decision is not how to play, but which game to start. This is a three-game collection, and that changes the rhythm immediately: you are choosing between Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver, and Fighting Force rather than committing to one single experience.

The two Legacy of Kain entries are the natural draw. Seeing Blood Omen and Soul Reaver together gives the package a stronger core than a completely random assortment would have, and it makes the collection especially tempting if that name already means something to you.

Fighting Force is the odd one out, which is both this set’s advantage and its limitation. It adds variety, but it also means the collection does not settle into one consistent kind of game. The clearest narrative pull comes from the two games carrying the Legacy of Kain name. Putting Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain and Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver in the same collection encourages you to treat them as the heart of the set, even before Fighting Force enters the picture.

That also makes the compilation feel split in two. One side is built around the recurring Legacy of Kain label; the other is Fighting Force, a separate inclusion with its own title and place in the lineup. The result is less like one long tale and more like a small library shelf.

That split is worth embracing instead of fighting. Come in wanting separate worlds and separate moods, not one cleanly continuous story across all three discs’ worth of material. The payoff is having a pair of related Legacy of Kain games collected beside a wildcard.

It is not the right purchase for someone chasing a perfectly curated single-game experience. The selection is inherently uneven because it spans three separate titles, and your enjoyment will rise or fall with how much you want to explore beyond your first choice.

Still, there is a real charm to this kind of bundle. Start with the Legacy of Kain game that interests you most, then treat the others as part of the bargain rather than distractions. For a gamer who enjoys a compact PlayStation grab bag with a recognizable franchise at its center, that is enough to make the collection worth considering.
