Rare Limited
Founded in 1985 by Tim and Chris Stamper from the earlier Ultimate Play the Game team, Rare Limited established itself in Twycross, Leicestershire as a UK console developer. During the late 1980s and through the 1990s the studio produced prominent cartridge-era and N64 projects, including R.C. Pro‑Am and Battletoads in its NES period and later Donkey Kong Country, Killer Instinct and GoldenEye 007. Into the 2000s and beyond the studio developed Banjo‑Kazooie entries and the Viva Piñata series while transitioning through partnerships with Nintendo and later acquisition by Microsoft. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as NES, Game Boy, Nintendo Switch, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, SNES, Game Boy Color, and Arcade.
