PCSX-Redux Git (2026/06/15) is a work-in-progress fork of the PCSX PlayStation Emulator. Its aim is to modernize the codebase, eliminate the plugin system, and establish a single, comprehensive codebase for PlayStation emulation. Development focuses on using SDL/OpenGL3+/ImGui to enhance portability and readability, as well as improving debugging and rendering experiences. Recent updates include merges for exit code handling, compatibility enhancements with various Libretro cores, and adding PCDRV host support. The emulator is still evolving, with ongoing efforts to refine its functionality and user experience.

While development is still ongoing, the primary aim is to achieve the following: Update the codebase to modern coding standards. Eliminate the plugin system, creating a unified, monolithic codebase that manages all aspects of PlayStation emulation. Build everything on top of SDL/OpenGL3+/ImGui for enhanced portability and clarity. Enhance the debugging experience. Improve rendering quality.
