Maxis Software Inc.
Maxis Software Inc., founded in California in 1987 by Will Wright and Jeff Braun, operated as a developer–publisher of simulation “Sim” titles through the 1980s and 1990s. Based in the Bay Area, the studio produced early hits including SimCity and later SimCity 2000, alongside experiments such as SimPark and SimTunes and smaller releases like Fathom: The Game of Tiles. Company leadership listed Jeff Braun as president with Wright as technical lead. Maxis was acquired by Electronic Arts in June 1997, after which its structure and studio locations evolved. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as DOS, Windows, Amiga, FM Towns, SNES, PlayStation, Wii, Atari ST, PlayStation 3, and PS Vita.
