Ares Git Release (May 26, 2026)

Ares Git (2026/05/26) is a multi-system emulator developed since October 14, 2004, focusing on accuracy and preservation. Descending from higan and bsnes, it currently emulates 27 hardware devices, including various Nintendo and Sega consoles, as well as the MSX, ColecoVision, and Neo Geo Pocket. Recent updates include a tape position slider for the desktop UI, enhanced tape support for SC-3000 and MSX, and improved keyboard mappings for macOS. Overall, Ares aims to provide an authentic emulation experience while adding new features and fixing existing issues. Download is available for x64 systems.

* msx: connected tape recording to tape manager

* msx: utilized the ‘new’ tape system instead of hard-coding the tape deck, added support for tsx/tzx and cas.
