Call of Duty: World at War – Map Pack 3

Map Pack 3 is a clean, focused reason to return to Call of Duty: World at War: one new Nazi Zombies destination, Der Riese, and three multiplayer maps named Battery, Breach, and Revolution. It does not try to reshape the base game; it simply adds more ground for the modes you already play.

Der Riese is the obvious draw if Nazi Zombies is your regular stop, while the three-versus-one split gives competitive multiplayer fans more to work with. Buy it if you are still actively playing World at War with friends and want more map rotation; otherwise, its straightforward scope makes it a tougher standalone sell.

Gameplay

The first thing Map Pack 3 gets right is its clarity. You know exactly what you are coming back for: Der Riese for Nazi Zombies, or Battery, Breach, and Revolution for standard multiplayer. That is a modest pitch, but it is also the right one for a map pack built around an established game rather than a new set of rules.

Der Riese, labeled Zombie Factory, is the centerpiece. If Nazi Zombies is the part of World at War that keeps pulling your group back for another run, a dedicated new map has more value than a pile of small extras ever could. It gives that side of the game equal billing instead of treating it as an afterthought.

The multiplayer side is broader by count, with three maps rather than one. Battery, Breach, and Revolution add options to the rotation, which matters most when you have exhausted the base-game selection or play frequently with the same crowd. The frustration is simple: this is a focused content purchase, so its worth rises or falls entirely on how often you still play these modes.

Graphics

Der Riese is explicitly framed as a Zombie Factory, making it the pack’s clearest themed location. Alongside the blunt, military-sounding names Battery, Breach, and Revolution, it fits World at War‘s hard-edged wartime and zombie split.

Story

This is not a new chapter of World at War. Map Pack 3 is a set of places to replay rather than a campaign expansion, so you should not come to it looking for plot progression or a new cast of characters.

Der Riese’s Zombie Factory label gives the Nazi Zombies map a direct premise: you are heading into a location defined by both industrial space and undead trouble. It is a concise hook, and that is enough for a mode built around returning to the same arena with friends.

The multiplayer maps are even more direct. Battery, Breach, and Revolution function as competitive destinations, not narrative locations you are meant to unpack. That narrow focus suits the DLC format, though it means the pack has little to offer if story is what brought you to World at War.

Overall Experience

Map Pack 3 is a solid add-on because it understands its lane. Four maps is a meaningful bump in variety, and the one-to-three split between Nazi Zombies and multiplayer makes the package more useful than a pack aimed at only one audience.

Its payoff depends on your habits. A regular Nazi Zombies group can reasonably treat Der Riese as the main event, while multiplayer regulars get three new names in the rotation. If you only dip into World at War occasionally, the content may feel too specialized to justify a separate purchase.

For active fans, this is an easy recommendation: it adds a new Zombie Factory map and three multiplayer maps without pretending to be anything larger. It is practical DLC, not essential history, but it earns its place for anyone still finding nights of competition or co-op chaos in World at War.
