Driver: San Francisco (Collector Pack)

Driver: San Francisco (Collector Pack) is aimed at the kind of fan who wants a little more to hold onto after the driving is done. Its centerpiece is a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 Six Pak replica in a display-style box, backed by a San Francisco map that marks 80 in-game dares and a special-edition Driver comic.

The actual play extras are modest but sensibly chosen: three multiplayer cars and four single-player challenges built around a citywide police escape, a relay race, races through Russian Hill, and taxi competition downtown. It is a worthwhile collector’s bundle if that mix sounds exciting to you, though the extras feel more like flavorful side dishes than a major expansion.

Gameplay

The four added single-player challenges give this pack its most immediate reason to exist. Mass Chase has the cleanest hook: you are a wrongfully accused driver trying to lose San Francisco’s entire police force and prove your innocence. That is exactly the sort of high-pressure scenario that can make a bonus mission feel distinct rather than merely longer.

The other three challenges lean into different driving fantasies. Relay Race asks you to change cars between laps to secure the win, while Russian Hill Racers puts you up against three supercars in the famous district. Taxi shifts the contest downtown, with a race against rival taxis. They are compact variations, but the contrast between a police pursuit, a car-swapping race, a supercar showdown, and a taxi contest keeps the bonus selection from feeling too samey.

Multiplayer gets three exclusive cars: the 1963 Aston Martin DB5, 1972 Lamborghini Miura, and 1966 Shelby Cobra 427. Their real attraction is the garage appeal of those names. If you routinely play multiplayer, they add some desirable machinery to take out; if you do not, this portion of the package will naturally carry less weight.

Graphics

The physical star is the 16 × 7 × 5 cm replica of a 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 Six Pak. It comes inside a 22 × 15 × 15 cm display-style box, so it has more presence on a shelf than a loose bonus trinket.

The paper map also has a practical collector’s charm, marking the locations of 80 dares across San Francisco. It is the sort of extra that invites you to trace routes and linger over the city rather than leave the pack’s contents tucked away.

Story

Story material is light, but there are two welcome pieces for anyone who wants more Driver fiction around the game. Mass Chase frames its pursuit around a driver falsely accused and attempting to clear his name, giving that challenge a little more motivation than a simple race timer.

The included DC Comics Driver #1 Special Edition comic is the more substantial narrative collectible. A comic makes sense in a collector pack because it gives you a separate way to spend time with the property when you are away from the controller.

Do not buy the Collector Pack expecting a sweeping new campaign. Its story value is in that one pursuit premise and the comic, not in a large new plotline. For a fan who enjoys franchise memorabilia, that can be enough; for everyone else, it is an extra rather than a deciding factor.

Overall Experience

This is a collector’s edition with a clear split personality: part shelf piece, part small pack of driving bonuses. The Challenger replica, city map, and comic are the components with lasting physical character, while the missions and multiplayer cars provide a reason to revisit the game itself.

The bundle is strongest when you already like Driver: San Francisco and want more texture around it. The paper map’s 80 marked dares makes the city feel like something worth exploring beyond a menu list, and the four challenges cover enough different situations to avoid being interchangeable filler.

For a newcomer, the Collector Pack’s extras are pleasant but not transformational. For an established fan, though, the specific car replica and comic give it a personal, old-school collector appeal that downloadable bonuses alone rarely manage. Buy it for the object on the shelf and the themed extras around the game; the additional challenges are a nice bonus, not the whole argument.
