With Project64, users can enjoy Nintendo 64 games on their computers by utilizing ROM images, which can either be extracted from the memory of a Nintendo 64 cartridge or generated on the computer as homebrew. The project began as a challenge for Jabo and zilmar to determine if they could successfully create a Nintendo 64 emulator. It is now open source.
