Melbourne House

Founded in Melbourne in 1977 by Alfred Milgrom and Naomi Besen, Melbourne House began as a general publisher that shifted into home-computer software in the early 1980s. The company created Beam Software as its development arm and published landmark microcomputer releases such as The Hobbit and The Way of the Exploding Fist. In 1987 the UK publishing arm and the Melbourne House name were sold to Mastertronic while the Australian development group continued as Beam. Throughout the 1980s the firm operated from Melbourne and handled both local development and UK publishing operations. The game entries below, including versions and later rereleases grouped in this archive, span systems such as ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, DOS, Amiga, Atari ST, MSX, BBC Micro, Apple II, and Arcade.
