It supports DirectX 12, Vulkan, and OpenGL renderers and can boot many commercial games and PlayStation 3 SDK samples, with ongoing contributions improving compatibility further. rpcs3 Git (2025/10/18) has been compiled. RPCS3 is an open-source emulator and debugger for the Sony PlayStation 3, developed in C++ for both Windows and Linux. Since early 2011, the emulator has evolved significantly, now supporting modern DirectX 12, Vulkan, and OpenGL renderers. It is able to boot and run a considerable number of commercial games as well as PlayStation 3 SDK samples, with more titles becoming playable thanks to ongoing development from contributors.
