The release of sidplaywx v0.20.0 introduces a GUI player for Commodore 64 SID tunes, enhancing the playback experience on PCs. Key features include MPRIS Media Control support for Linux, enabling desktop playback control, and several adjustable settings in Preferences for DAC leakage, DC-Blocker resistance, wave offset, and combined waveform strength. Improvements include preventing voice disablement while seeking and optimizing STIL scrolling. Notable fixes address song indication, playback navigation, and UI issues, particularly for dark themes. The default MSW theme is now set to “Auto.” The update includes libsidplayfp v3.1.1 and libresidfp v1.2.2.
sidplaywx v0.20.0 has been released. This version of sidplaywx serves as a GUI player for Commodore 64 SID chip tunes, designed to offer a modern and user-friendly playback experience on PCs.

[NEW] MPRIS Media Control support for Linux
You can now manage playback directly from your desktop environment (lock screen, widgets, etc.) as well as hardware media keys.
A new toggle in Preferences allows you to disable this feature (enabled by default).
The following MPRIS actions are supported: Play, Pause, PlayPause, Stop, Next, Previous, Quit, OpenUri.
Playback status and tune metadata are also reported.
[NEW] DAC leakage can be modified in the Preferences (impacts envelope and waveforms).
[NEW] DC-Blocker resistance can be changed in the Preferences (affects the highpass cutoff frequency of the external filter).
[NEW] Wave offset (for SID 6581) can be adjusted in the Preferences (affects the volume of digitized samples for SID 6581).
[NEW] Combined waveform strength can be altered in the Preferences (modifies the sound intensity of the SID chip).
[NEW] Option in Preferences to allow overriding the system theme on Linux.
Known issue: theme override may not function correctly on some desktop environments (Gnome typically works, while KDE may not), causing the behavior to default to the “Auto” option.
[IMPROVED] Voices are no longer disabled during seeking to avoid tune state corruption (an edge case with certain tunes).
While this makes real-time seeking slower, the integrity of playback is paramount.
[IMPROVED] STIL scrolling labels have been optimized (caching graphics context), which should theoretically result in smoother scrolling.
[IMPROVED?] Limited update checker timeout to 5 seconds.
[FIXED] Changed song indication from “Copyright” to “Released” (aligned with the HVSC.txt section 3-3).
[FIXED] Resolved some navigation issues during playback introduced in the last version.
[FIXED] Addressed several minor visual UI issues, mostly pertaining to the dark theme.
