Retro Replay Review
Gameplay
The Charity Pack drops you straight into the part of racing games that car enthusiasts love: taking a familiar career framework and changing its feel with one new machine. Here, that machine is the Ford Escort Mk2, assigned to DiRT 3’s 70s Rally class. If that car catches your eye, the pack has an immediate, uncomplicated pull. Pick it, take it into the class it belongs in, and see whether its rally character earns a permanent place in your rotation.
That focus is both its strength and its limitation. There are no extra cars to sample and no wider collection of new content to work through; this is a one-car purchase. Five liveries give you some choice over how the Escort looks, but they do not turn the add-on into a substantial expansion. You will know quickly whether it was worth having.
For a dedicated DiRT 3 player, that can be enough. A single well-chosen classic rally car can freshen up repeat sessions, especially if you enjoy driving across the game’s era-based classes rather than constantly chasing a new mode. Everyone else should treat this as optional garage flavor, not essential DiRT 3 content.

Graphics
The visual change is concentrated on the Ford Escort Mk2 itself. You get five liveries for the same 70s rally car, so the reward is seeing a classic shape in a few different paint schemes rather than discovering new locations, cars, or race types.

Story
The pack does not ask you to follow a new campaign thread or a separate racing storyline. Its theme is the Colin McRae Vision charity branding and the arrival of a specific classic Ford, which keeps the add-on rooted in rally heritage rather than narrative.
That makes the title pleasantly direct. You are not being led away from DiRT 3’s existing flow for a side story; you are adding one vehicle to the garage and carrying on with the races that suit it.
The trade-off is simple: there is no dramatic payoff attached to owning the pack. The satisfaction comes from the Escort Mk2, the 70s Rally class, and whichever of its five liveries you prefer.
Overall Experience
DiRT 3: Colin McRae Vision Charity Pack is a modest piece of DLC with an equally modest recommendation. The Ford Escort Mk2 is the whole reason to buy it, and the five liveries are a welcome extra rather than a major selling point.
If you have a soft spot for 70s rally machinery, this is an easy little addition to appreciate. The car belongs in the appropriate class, the scope is honest, and it gives committed DiRT 3 fans one more classic option to race.
If you want a meaningful expansion of DiRT 3, look elsewhere in the game’s content library or pick up DiRT 3: Complete Edition, which later included this pack. On its own, this is a collector-minded extra: worthwhile for Escort fans, slight for everybody else.
