Forza Motorsport 4: August Playseat Car Pack

The August Playseat Car Pack earns its keep through range rather than one headline machine. You get ten cars that jump from a 1962 Triumph TR3B and Lincoln Continental to a 1989 Sauber race car, Peugeot’s 205 T16, and then-modern performance coupes such as the Camaro ZL1, Mustang Boss 302, Genesis Coupe, Lexus GS350 F Sport, and Scion FR-S.

That mix makes this a worthwhile add-on if you enjoy trying radically different automobiles in the same racing game, though it is less essential if you only care about one era or one manufacturer. The historic oddities and competition cars give the pack personality; the newer road cars round it out without making the selection feel too narrowly exotic.

Gameplay

The fun of this pack is in opening the garage and realizing it refuses to stick to a single automotive mood. One moment you can gravitate toward the compact, classic Triumph TR3B or the huge 1962 Lincoln Continental; the next, the choice is a 1989 Mercedes #63 Team Sauber or the rally-bred 1984 Peugeot 205 T16. That is a much better hook than a pack padded with near-identical modern coupes.

The contemporary half has its own purpose. Chevrolet’s 2012 Camaro ZL1, Ford’s 2013 Mustang Boss 302, Hyundai’s 2013 Genesis Coupe, Lexus’s 2013 GS350 F Sport, and Scion’s 2013 FR-S create a clear cluster of recognizable road cars, while the 2003 Aston Martin DB7 Zagato adds a more unusual grand-touring pick. You are buying variety, not a tightly curated single-marque collection.

That broad selection is also where the value question lands. If a single favorite car is all you want, ten additions can feel like overkill. If you like changing your choice often and enjoy the contrast between old road cars, race machinery, rally heritage, and newer performance models, the pack gives you reasons to keep sampling rather than settling immediately.

Graphics

The cars themselves are the stars: the long, formal shape of the 1962 Continental sits far from the low-slung Sauber and the small Peugeot 205 T16, while the Camaro, Mustang, Genesis Coupe, Lexus, and FR-S bring a more familiar modern-road-car look. It is an eclectic garage in the most literal sense.

Story

This is garage-focused DLC, not a story expansion. Its “story,” such as it is, comes from automotive contrast: British sports-car history beside American muscle, European racing hardware, rally pedigree, and modern Japanese and Korean coupes.

The selection has a loose collector’s logic rather than a narrative arc. The Aston Martin DB7 Zagato and Triumph TR3B bring distinct older British flavor, while the Lincoln makes sure the historical end is not limited to sports cars.

That makes the pack easy to recommend on taste. You will get more out of it if the idea of owning a strange cross-section of cars sounds satisfying in itself, rather than expecting new plot material or a themed progression.

Overall Experience

The August Playseat Car Pack is a solid, varied car bundle with enough genuinely different choices to avoid feeling like filler. The Sauber, Peugeot, Triumph, and Continental do much of the heavy lifting because they make the roster memorable; the modern entries make it feel fuller rather than merely nostalgic.

It is not as focused as a DLC pack built around one manufacturer or one class, but that looseness is its strength. You can chase whatever mood you have that day: elegant, muscular, quirky, race-bred, or modern and attainable.

For more add-on garage variety, the April Alpinestars Car Pack is a relevant companion. Taken on its own, August’s pack is an easy pick for dedicated Forza Motorsport 4 collectors and a more selective purchase for anyone who only wants a specific standout car.
