Ares (August 25, 2026)

Ares, a multi-system emulator released on August 25, 2026, originated from higan and bsnes, emphasizing accuracy and preservation. Development began on October 14, 2004. Currently, it emulates 27 hardware devices, including Famicom, Super Famicom, Nintendo 64 (in development), Game Boy, Master System, Mega Drive, and others. Recent changes include support for QPassSignals in the nall/gdb component. The emulator is available for download in x64 format, with the source accessible as well.
