emuze v0.59.0 has been launched. emuze serves as a graphical frontend for a variety of emulators designed for Windows, Linux, and Steam Deck.

As many of you know, I appreciate the straightforwardness of console gaming. You launch the game, and it functions right away. However, emulation often requires more than just the game itself; you may need BIOS files, firmware, or key files. I’ve wanted to simplify this process for a long time. With this update, you can designate a folder for your BIOS files, and emuze will automatically detect and configure the emulators. Furthermore, emuze will notify you if any essential files are missing. Bundled with this release are open-source BIOS implementations for PlayStation, Game Boy Advance, and NEO GEO, though you can use official BIOS files by placing them in the BIOS folder. Unfortunately, I’ve not yet managed to implement the same for more complex systems like PlayStation 3, WiiU, and Switch, which will need a firmware installation. I plan to address these in an upcoming release.
Additionally, I’ve included pre-configured ScummVM and DOSBox Pure Unleashed.
Finally, the moment has arrived: All 35 supported systems are now pre-configured and included! 🎉
Regardless of the system you choose to play, all connected gamepads will be set up for the specific emulator and should work right away without extra adjustments.
In previous versions, I included RMG as an alternative to ares for playing N64 if your device couldn’t run ares N64 at full speed.
For similar reasons, I have also bundled and pre-configured Eden as an alternative to Ryujinx.
In this version, you can enable RMG and Eden through Settings -> Advanced.

❗️ Breaking Changes
Removed DOSBox Staging in favor of DOSBox Pure Unleashed
To utilize the mlc folder for WiiU, your games must be inside a subfolder labeled “games”
Since BIOS files are now managed by emuze, you need to place your BIOS files in a designated folder and specify this folder under Settings -> General -> BIOS Path
